ABETRANS - COMPANY PROFILE
 Mr. Abraham Abe Pirian established Abetrans in 1983. (Born in 1954 in Tehran/Iran finished high school in 1974 and moved to Chicago, in the United States in order to study higher education at Roosevelt University. After 6 years of study, has received the Master Degree in Business Administration, with major in International Marketing Management, and in 1980 immigrated to Israel). The company basically started as a freight forwarding and soon in 1983 has started acting as Shipping Agency for "Spedit Line of Trieste/Italy" operating 3 multipurpose vessels between Italy and Israel very successfully with aggressive marketing strategy and after a year of operation has gained a 18% market share, which was raised to 27% by end of 1988, We have faced a rough competition of Conference Lines in Adriatic and North Continent Shipping Lines, which brought the "Spedit Line" to stop their service in 1990. In 1991 started operating two Multi purpose vessels of 8,400 and 11,000 Tons between North Continent Ports and Israel under the name "Marl Link", being as partner and operator of the line have gained enough experience to know the owner side of shipping. In 1995 we have started acting as General Agents for Navi Bulgar/Bulcon Lines with headquarter in Varna operating 85 container feeder vessels (100-500 TEUs each) in the Mediterranean ports and black sea, vessels calling (West Med, Adriatic, East Med, and black sea with some transshipments in Gioia Tauro. Our experience in the shipping and forwarding made us as one of the key companies in the Israeli market and have annual growth year by year. In 2001, we have booked and shipped about 11,350 TEUs and in 2002, we have booked and shipped over 12,500 TEUs and our forecast for the entire year 2003 is to reach 13,500 TEUs, only as an N.V.O.C.C company. Our main trade has been Far East, Italy, Europe and the United States. Recently, our head office moved to new owned premises of Sea Front with 520 sqm of prime location, which was bought in 1995. I believe that our experience as Shipping Agency and other various operation, will enable us to know the exact need of the shipping owners, to be able to give the best possible service for mainly Marketing and Operation.
